Robin Nimanong

Performance Artist

Robin Nimanong (He/She/They) develops their work in the field of society and queer art, to aim for unheard voices to be heard. Consisting of their interest in dance, the body and media. They combine these with questions about identity, self-care and the future, crossing borders between dance and other disciplines. Robin graduated with a bachelor's degree at Modern Theater Dance in 2017, Amsterdam. Their work is strongly driven by their queer identity and Thai background. Nimanongs dance film Aphrodisiac II (NEXT BEST FRINGE AWARD 2020) was made by and for the queer community, with ‘breaking down shame’ as a very important topic.
After that ‘Bodyscan 223’ and ‘Cyborg DNA’ were seen in theaters, museums and festivals. Currently Robin is working on a new dance performance named: ‘Project Fools.’ Premiering the 25th of April 2025.

 

Robin danced for Batshevas Ensemble and worked with Ohad Naharin, Sharon Eyal and Roy Assaf and became a certified gaga teacher.
Currently Robin is teaching their own method since 2021 I-AM (improvisation, awareness and movement), nourished by their experience as freelance dancer.
Robin worked with: Eldad Ben sasson and Liat Waysbort, Ivgi&Greben, SHIFFT, Dries Verhoeven, VisaVis (Almere), Annica Muller, Imre & Marne van Opstal and Nicole Beutler.
